Tidbits

Thanks Entourage, for clueing me in to the fact that people like to have sex dressed up as a furry mascot.

Will Ferrell writes the dictionary!

Environmentally friendly (but racially exclusionary?) Google.

Those crazy furverts.

I never knew the plushies and furries existed until Vanity Fair did an article on the whole scene a few years ago. If you can find that on the Internet somewhere all your questions (and some you would never ask) will be answered.

Be careful taking what you see in the media at face value. Entourage and Vanity Fair are there for entertainment, not education. :-)

"Hotel New Hampshire" with Ms. Kinski introduced the phenom in the early eighties.
Rob Lowe was in it too

Cat - they don't love their stuffed animals. They LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE them.

Chel - it looks like W Magazine is doing a furry-themed spread next month too.

Greenreaper - welcome! I linked to but didn't really read the wikipedia page. Sounds a bit like Trekkies to me.

Rhet - I wonder if John Irving had that in mind when he wrote the book (haven't read it)? It's been many years since I've seen the movie, but I recall it being delightfully odd.

Nice to hear from you.
The Old Dart is certainly an eye opener for an Aussie hayseed like me but It also puts me in closer proximity to the rest of the world including the U.S of A which is on my places to visit list. Is the Grand Canyon still open?

I'm waiting for the day when scrumptrulescent makes it into the dictionary too.

OH, and I found out about the furry craze a while back from CSI.

Bring back Ripley, she posts more often!

Mur, I have no problem with ferrets in the wild!

Beckeye, scrumtrulescent is fantabulous! Not a CSI watcher but makes sense that they would go there too.

Rhet, yes delightfully odd. It is still fiction. And sorry for the lack of posts - I was out of town on business and swamped. I barely had time to read blogs much less write.
