I'm trying to get sent to China for work. I'd leave a week from Saturday and would be there for 2 weeks. Destinations are Shanghai and 2 other destinations TBD.

UPDATE: No China for me this time. But it could be in the cards for the future.

Start eating more Chinese food. Open all the fortune cookies until you get one that says something like, "You will go on a long journey soon." That should work.
Probably best to wait till after the olympics anyway ;\

BeckEye, the Chinese place we order from has the funniest fortunes. "You will become the ruler of a small European country" and such.

Pugs, the purchaser would have to be an idiot to take me for a legit mail-order bride. I do know someone who's in the market for one and if she ain't Asian, he ain't interested.
I spend a couple of weeks in Shanghai. Absolutely huge city. They don't speak a lot of English there (or at least when I was there about 5 years ago). So some things were rather tricky. I had the hotel give me some business cards so that I could give them to the cabbie to get me back home. The Bund is pretty cool and there is a giant statue of Chairman Mao there. I hope you get to go eventually as it is quite different than the US in many ways.
